Supported Living Services (or SLS) help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who wish or choose to live in their own homes independently. Consumers who use SLS live apart from their guardians in apartments or houses they lease or own.
We offer our SLS program to consumers throughout California who use the regional center’s services. SLS can give consumers the assistance they need to live successfully in their homes and be healthy and safe.
This service includes help with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and meal preparation, ensuring individuals can maintain personal hygiene and nutrition.
In the independent living skills program (ILS), people with disabilities learn essential life skills that can be applied to daily living and promote independence. ILS helps each consumer learn to live independently within the context of their level of physical, intellectual, and emotional development.
We provide personal training at the consumer’s residence or community daily or weekly, depending on what fits them best.
Facilitating social and recreational activities that encourage participation in community life, helping clients build social networks, and enhancing their quality of life through engagement with peers and support groups.
Offering job readiness training, resume building, and ongoing support for individuals with disabilities to help them secure and maintain employment, thereby promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
